A few more…

Here’s a couple more from Katelin’s shoot

Here are a few photos from a quick shoot I did with my friend Katelin. I was trying our new firefly strip box flash diffuser with a single canon speedlite.

I’ve always loved black and white for portraits. They seem to have a timeless quality to them. I recently spent some time photographing a good friend, Lori G, in black and white. We were trying some modern takes on some classic portraits. Thanks to Lori for being such a patient and fun model!

Selling my baby

Well, I was out taking a few photos of my car today that I’m putting up for sale. I have put a lot of time hard work in this car and will miss it. Heres a few of the photos I took of it.

At the Park

Before this cold snap and snow hit Calgary (yet again) we had a few days of warm weather and sunshine. I took the opportunity to head outside to the park to capture a few images. While I did photograph the usual suspects of kids playing and laughing, I tried to capture images that had interesting patterns, shadows or a graphic feel. Couldn’t resist though… included a few of my youngest son Nathan.

Seeing Red

About a week ago I was in Arizona with my children, a friend and her kids. It was a short vacation away from the husbands and the cold weather we had in Calgary. We lucked out and missed the ice storm and enjoyed the balmy sunshine! We did quite a bit of traveling with stops in Tombstone, Sedona, the Phoenix Zoo, and Enchanted Island, to name a few. When we weren’t busy driving and dealing with kids (4 kids under the age of 7 –  maybe our husbands got the better deal at home… !),  I did manage to squeeze in a few photos.  After looking at all my photos I noticed a trend – red. Many of the photos have a red hue to them. I was drawn to the red of the rocks in Sedona and the rust color that seemed present on so many things. Here’s a sampling of a few images.
